On Monday, July 29th, Paris Police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Washington following a report of an assault. The victim reported that Accycia Lavarsheys Reasno, 27, had physically attacked them. Upon arrival, officers located Reasno, who reacted by loudly cursing at them. Officers detained Reasno on the scene.
While officers were handling Reasno, her mother, Taoknockea Shante Mason, 48, arrived and became involved in the situation. Mason began to escalate the confrontation, interfering with the officers' attempt to arrest Reasno. As a result, officers also detained Mason.
Reasno was charged with Assault on a Family Member. Mason faced charges of Interference with a Public Servant for obstructing the officers’ duties and Disorderly Conduct for her disruptive and vulgar behavior in a public setting.
