On Thursday, July 25th, at 11:05 a.m., a complainant reported that his neighbor, who is also his tenant, was breaking out windows of both his house and vehicle. Paris Police officers located the suspect an hour later in the 1600 block of East Price Street. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect displaying erratic behavior, sweating profusely, pacing by the side of the house, brandishing a machete, and yelling about “the voices” he was hearing.
The suspect ignored the officers' verbal commands to drop the machete and retreated inside the residence, where he continued to damage additional items. Allan Ray Haggerty, 56, eventually exited the residence unarmed and surrendered to the officers. Haggerty was booked for State Jail Felony-Criminal Mischief after breaking 14 residence windows.
