Jerely Lee Birdow, a 51-year-old resident of Commerce, Texas, was apprehended after evading capture for 12 years. A warrant for Birdow's arrest was issued by the 196th District Court in Hunt County on March 28, 2012, for charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault.
On Friday, July 26, 2024, the Hunt County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshal Service, located and arrested Birdow. In addition to the original charge, an additional charge of Conspiracy has been added.
