Corey Dean Williams, a 30-year-old man from Laporte, Texas, has been missing for two years. Investigator Guthrie from the Upshur County Sheriff's Office is actively searching for him.
The Upshur County Sheriff's Office began a missing person case on July 28, 2022, involving Williams, who was last seen around midnight on July 27, 2022, at a friend's house in Gilmer. His car, a 1995 white Mercury Cougar, was found off Azalea Road in Upshur County near Hwy 154, east of Gilmer.
Williams was last seen wearing a neon yellow shirt and blue jeans. He has distinctive tattoos: the letter "C" between his thumb and index finger on his right hand, the letter "W" between his thumb and index finger on his left hand, and a large red and green rose on his right chest.
The Upshur County Sheriff's Office has conducted multiple searches, including drone missions with heat-sensing equipment over the area where the car was located. Additionally, K-9 units and private cadaver dogs from the Harleton Fire Department have participated in the search. On Sunday, a mounted search team from the Sit 'Em Down Cowboy Church in Big Sandy volunteered their services but did not find further evidence.
The Sheriff's Office considers Williams' disappearance suspicious. Items found in the car suggest that the incident may be related to narcotics use or a related transaction.
Anyone with information that could lead to Williams' whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Upshur County Sheriff's Office at 903-843-2541.
