Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan W. Beavers announced the death of Sergeant II Daniel Van Huss, who passed away on July 21, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Van Huss began his career with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office in 2009, was promoted to Deputy in 2011, Corporal in 2013, and Sergeant later that same year. He served in the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), DEA Task Force, and the Street Crimes Unit. Van Huss was promoted to Sergeant II on July 15, 2024.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office asks for thoughts and prayers for his family during this time.
