A former bail bondsman, Rachel Shannon Rosser-Barnett, 50, of Diana, was arrested in Upshur County on Tuesday on charges related to drugs and firearms, according to a press release from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office. Rosser-Barnett faces two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a stolen firearm, with a total bond set at $320,000.
The arrest occurred during a routine visit to Rosser-Barnett's residence on an unrelated matter. During the visit, law enforcement discovered methamphetamine, cocaine, and a stolen firearm. A subsequent search warrant led to the recovery of more than 20 additional guns in an outdoor shed, along with other items associated with drug distribution.
John Ed Sartor, Jr., 30, of Hughes Springs, who lived with Rosser-Barnett, was also arrested. Sartor faces a charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance with a $150,000 bond.
Rosser-Barnett, previously employed at Second Chance Bail Bonds, had her bonding privileges revoked in May due to her involvement with known drug dealers.
