ClearSky Health, a premier rehabilitative healthcare provider, recently broke ground for a new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital near 150 Hope Drive in Heath, Texas.
The new facility, ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rockwall County, will provide specialized care for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other complex medical conditions. The hospital is expected to treat over 650 patients annually and create approximately 100 new jobs in the area.
“Locating the hospital on a street called ‘Hope’ is perfect for us, because that’s what we bring our patients – hope,” said Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health, during the groundbreaking ceremony. “Our patients come to us following acute care hospital stays with disabling injuries or illnesses that prevent them from returning to the things they like doing, such as golfing, fishing, or going to church. Our intensive rehabilitative services help our patients maximize their recoveries so they can return back to their homes and to the activities that they enjoy.”
The hospital's interdisciplinary healthcare team will include a physician; rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, and speech therapists; case managers; respiratory therapists; dietitians; and other healthcare professionals. The state-of-the-art, 45,000-square-foot building will feature private rooms, a rehabilitative gym with specialized equipment and one-on-one therapy, a dining room with a dedicated chef and food service staff, an activity of daily living space for therapy in home-like conditions, and an outside therapeutic courtyard.
Mayor Jeremiah McClure of Heath, who also spoke at the groundbreaking event, expressed the city's commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to the Rockwall area through a lasting partnership with ClearSky Health.
“It’s important to have this level of healthcare available locally,” McClure said, sharing his personal experience with a loved one who had a stroke. “Patients and families who are dealing with this type of traumatic event in their lives are already under a great deal of stress. So having to go to another city for care just adds more emotional and financial stress to an already difficult time. Now patients in the area won’t have to leave.”
McClure continued, “Heath and the Rockwall County Area are about work, live, and play. We’re a premier lifestyle community, and I think this new level of healthcare accessibility just adds to it. We’re glad to be part of the monumental moment.”
ClearSky Rockwall County is expected to open in Spring 2025.
