On July 4, 2024, at approximately 1:13 AM, officers from the Daingerfield Police Department responded to a report of a robbery and shooting at a closed business parking lot. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. Immediate aid was provided until EMS personnel arrived on the scene.
The preliminary investigation describes the suspect as a light-skinned African American male, wearing a Nike ski-type mask and armed with a handgun. The suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. It is believed that a vehicle may have been involved in facilitating the suspect's escape, possibly picking him up after he fled the parking lot.
