On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Deputy Jude Bonner conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 white Dodge Challenger at around 3:00 PM for a traffic violation. Aaron Chase Calvert was driving the vehicle.
Kaufman County K9 Deputy Kevin Shaw assisted in the stop, and K9 Vinnie alerted positively for narcotics during a free air sniff around the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl under the steering wheel column.
Calvert was arrested for two counts of Manufacturing or Delivering a Controlled Substance. He was transported to Henderson County Jail and arraigned by Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Tanya Norris, who set bail at $200,000.
