The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation is providing free heart calcium scans for men in Hopkins County aged 40 to 60 who have one or more risk factors, including obesity, diabetes, current smoking, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or a family history of heart disease.
Scans will be conducted in July, and appointments can be secured by calling 903-439-4040, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The project is funded by Mingo, with additional donations from individuals. This initiative marks the Foundation's first offering specifically targeting men's health. For several years, the Foundation has offered a free mammography clinic for uninsured Hopkins County women over 40, with the next one scheduled for October.
The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, dedicated to raising funds to benefit the health of Hopkins County citizens.
