East Texas 79-Year-Old Arrested for Child Sexual Abuse and Providing Drugs to the Minor

On June 19, 2024, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Task Force, Narcotics Investigators, and Special Assignment Deputies executed a search warrant issued by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee at 9050 County Road 3410 in Brownsboro, TX (Henderson County).  The warrant stemmed from an investigation into offenses that occurred on March 17, 2024.  The suspect was identified as 79-year-old Billy Angus Lide.  

During the execution of the search warrant enough probable cause was found for an arrest warrant for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child, a first-degree felony, with additional charges to come for Delivery of a Controlled Substance to A Minor, a second-degree felony.

Lide is in the Henderson County Jail awaiting arraignment. This was a joint investigation with The Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center and Cherokee County Child Protective Services.
