Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests and Drug Charges in Paris

On Monday, a Paris Police officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of NE 13th Street for a seatbelt violation. The driver, Jaylyn Damian Williams, 21, and his female passenger, Serenity Faith Lewis, 19, were in the car. Lewis initially refused to provide identification.

Williams had an outstanding traffic warrant from Lamar County and was taken into custody. He wished to release his vehicle to Lewis but did not provide her name. Officers eventually identified Lewis, who admitted to having four outstanding traffic warrants and was also taken into custody.

During the arrest, Lewis admitted to possessing a handgun, which was found in her pants. A search of the vehicle uncovered THC gummies in the console within reach of both occupants. Both Williams and Lewis were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additionally, Lewis was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
