Tawakoni South Volunteer Fire Department has announced the temporary shutdown of Whites Causeway due to flooding. The department urges the public not to attempt to go around barricades for safety reasons.
Despite the closure, the fire department reassures the community that they will continue to respond to emergency calls within their district. In case they are unable to respond, neighboring departments will be alerted for mutual aid.

For travelers heading to Quinlan:
- At the red light intersection of 751/429, turn left onto 429.
- Drive 5.4 miles and turn right onto 331.
- After 0.3 miles, take a slight right onto 332.
- At the stop sign, turn left onto 3702.
- Drive approximately 2.5 miles to reach Highway 34. Turn right to head toward Quinlan or left to head toward Terrell.
For travelers coming from Quinlan:
- After 3.8 miles from Ford High School, turn left onto 3702.
- Drive 2.5 miles and turn right onto 332.
- At the stop sign, take a slight left onto 331.
- At the next stop sign, turn right to head toward Terrell or left to 751.
If the suggested route is also affected by flooding:
- At the red light intersection of 751/429, turn left onto 429.
- Drive 8.6 miles and turn right onto 329.
- Take an immediate left onto 328 to reach Highway 34.
- At the stop sign, turn right to head toward Quinlan or left to head toward Terrell.
