On April 13, 2024, the Harrison County Sheriff's Office received a distress call reporting severe lacerations to a man's arm. Responding to the call on Robyn Ln in Longview, West Harrison First Responders encountered a woman, later identified as 61-year-old Monique Nollevaux Alston, who was covered in blood but refused them entry into the house.
Deputies arrived to find the injured husband, who explained that his wife, Monique, had become intoxicated and aggressive. Attempting to avoid confrontation, he had retreated to take a bath, prompting Monique to strike the bathtub with a sledgehammer, causing injury to his arm.
While deputies attempted to detain her, Monique resisted arrest and was subsequently taken into custody on charges of Resisting Arrest.
