Harrison County Deputies responded to an assault call on Highway 154 on Thursday, April 4th. The caller reported being assaulted by a drunk individual who had also broken her arm.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies spoke with the parties involved. The incident stemmed from an argument that escalated when the individual began destroying property in the house. The focus then shifted to the complainant, who was pushed down and repeatedly punched in the head until intervention from another person. The assailant was identified as 52-year-old Cory Wade Vines of Diana, Texas.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, while Vines was arrested and taken to the Harrison County Jail. He has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence and his bond was set at $3,000.
