Mount Pleasant ISD is grieving the loss of one of its high school student athletes, Trevor Charles Broach, aged 18. Broach, a member of the Mount Pleasant High School Class of 2024, was a prominent figure in various school activities including the varsity football and track and field teams, as well as being involved in the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
According to an obituary, Broach passed away on Saturday, March 30, leaving the school community in shock and sorrow. His celebration of life is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Additionally, a candlelight vigil in his memory will be held on Thursday, April 4, at Sam Parker Stadium at 7 p.m.
In response to the tragedy, Mount Pleasant High School has arranged for additional counselors to be available on campus to support grieving students. Furthermore, local pastors have volunteered their time to provide emotional support to those affected by Broach's passing.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Trevor Broach Memorial Scholarship at 410 N. Jefferson Ave. #175, Mt. Pleasant, Texas 75455.
