Rowlett Police Apprehend Camper, Clean Up Illegal Campsite

On March 7, 2024, Rowlett Police officers responded to reports of an illegal camp in a greenbelt area near the 4600 block of President George Bush Highway. Although the camper was not present upon arrival, officers discovered an ID card and personal belongings at the site. Subsequently, the camper was taken into custody and transferred to the Dallas County Jail.

Efforts were made to secure the camper's belongings for safekeeping. The successful resolution of the situation was credited to the collaborative efforts of Rowlett Police's Crisis Assistance Officers, Officer Jones, and Officer Caldwell, alongside Lt. Ferrie, Sgt. Klinger, and three recruits: Gorskikh, Sherwani, and Huffman. Their diligent work in cleaning up the area underscores their commitment to maintaining community safety and cleanliness.
