The Wake Village Police Department announced on March 6, 2024, the arrest of Russell Soule, 33, in connection with the 2017 death of Lindsey Torres, aged 31 at the time. The incident occurred on September 15, 2017, in Wake Village, Texas, near Texarkana. Soule faces a murder charge, according to police.
The arrest stems from an incident at the Westwood Apartments in the 100 block of Redwater Road, where officers responded to reports of an unresponsive woman on the day of the murder. Police state that Torres and Soule were residing together in an apartment within the complex. The autopsy revealed Torres's cause of death as drowning and other injuries, although the exact manner of death remained undetermined.
On March 5, 2024, investigators received information linking Soule to Torres's death. Following this development, an arrest warrant was issued, and Soule was apprehended in Atlanta, Texas, before being transported to Cass County jail. The subsequent day, Soule was transferred to Bowie County and incarcerated at the Bi-State Jail, with bond set at $1 million.
