On Sunday, March 3, 2024, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident at Hwy 79 East and Rusk County Road 347 in the Chapman Community, launching a death investigation. Following preliminary findings, the authorities have determined that the evidence at the scene aligns with the criminal offense of murder.
Christina Glenn, 27, from Houston was found deceased at the location, confirmed by Justice of the Peace Pct 1, Pat McCorory. During the investigation, law enforcement identified a suspect, 33-year-old Justin Roy Edwards, also from Houston. Edwards was promptly apprehended at the scene and charged with murder, a felony of the first degree.
Presently, Edwards remains in custody at the Rusk County Jail, with bail set at one million dollars by Justice of the Peace Pct #5, Jana Enloe. The Texas Highway Patrol and the Rusk County Mounted Patrol Unit assisted in the investigation.
