The Greenville Independent School District (GISD) has announced the appointment of David Collins as the new Athletic Director for the Greenville Lions.
Before joining GISD, Collins built an impressive career working with coaches and student-athletes in various roles. His experience includes serving as the Assistant Athletic Director of Mabank ISD, Athletic Director & Head Football Coach at Pine Tree ISD, and Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Richardson ISD. Collins has also contributed to programs at Flower Mound Marcus HS, Allen HS, and his alma mater, Mabank HS.
A proud graduate of Sterling College, Collins holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. His coaching journey includes leading the Pearce High School Mustangs to notable accomplishments during his six seasons. Under his guidance, the 6A program excelled in every sport, reaching the second round of post-season play in 2017 and 2018.
Collins' success extends to his time as the Offensive Coordinator at Lake Travis HS, where he played a crucial role in the Cavaliers' undefeated 16-0 season in 2011 and secured the 4A Division I State Championship. His achievements led to his selection as a coach for the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game in 2012.
In addition to his professional achievements, Collins is a family man. He is married to Crystal, who has dedicated 19 years to education, currently serving as an Instructional Support Specialist in Richardson ISD. The couple is proud parents to their three-year-old daughter, Kellison.
