Greenville Independent School District (GISD) is delighted to announce Coach Jenna Sickels as the Interim Athletic Director for the Greenville Lions, effective December 1, 2023.
Coach Sickels, a dedicated member of the GISD for the past decade, has held various roles within the district, most recently as the Girls Head Volleyball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. A proud Greenville High School alumna, she furthered her education by earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master's degree from Texas A&M University Commerce.
During her tenure, Coach Sickels guided the Lady Lions volleyball team to notable success, boasting five playoff appearances, two Bi-District championships, and one Area championship.
Beyond her coaching achievements, Coach Jenna Sickels is married to former Greenville Lion Gary Sickels. The couple takes pride in their two children, Jackson and Jayde, both graduates of Greenville High School.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Sickels stated, "I am excited and look forward to continuing to build relationships and inspire success within this amazing Lion family, comprised of athletes, coaches, parents, and the Greenville ISD community."
Superintendent Sharon Boothe expressed confidence in Coach Sickels, stating, "Coach Sickels has been an integral part of our athletic program and has a proven track record of leadership, dedication, and success. I have full confidence that she will continue to inspire and elevate all of our Lions."
