Deputies arrived at the residence and, according to the affidavit, determined that an altercation had occurred between Newberry and his girlfriend. Deputies at the scene noted a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Newberry. After interviewing the victim and observing evidence consistent with her account, Newberry was arrested on a charge of Assault Family Violence (Class A Misdemeanor).
