On April 17, 2025, a jury found Quinton Antoine Branch, 43, of Helena, Montana, guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The jury sentenced Branch to 40 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division, and imposed the maximum fine of $10,000.
According to the Upshur County Sheriff's Office, they were contacted on June 8, 2023, regarding the sexual assault of a 13-year-old child. The investigation revealed that Branch, a close family friend and former neighbor who had moved to Montana, was visiting friends and family in the area. The victim also disclosed that Branch had been touching her inappropriately since she was five years old. DNA evidence collected from the child matched Quinton Branch.
Under the terms of the sentence, Branch must serve one-half of his 40-year sentence before becoming eligible for parole. If released, he will also be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
