A driver who fled a traffic stop for speeding in a school zone was arrested after a high-speed chase that involved reckless driving and multiple traffic violations on April 2, 2025.
At approximately 2:58 PM, a Linden Police Department officer observed a white Ford pickup truck speeding through a school zone. The vehicle was clocked at 35 mph in a 20 mph zone.
When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to yield and continued to flee. The subsequent pursuit involved the driver running multiple stop signs, entering a construction zone driving against traffic, and reaching speeds exceeding 85 mph. The vehicle was also observed swerving into oncoming lanes, disregarding traffic control measures and endangering other drivers.
The driver eventually stopped and was taken into custody. A records check revealed an active felony warrant for bond revocation on previous possession charges.
The Linden Police Department emphasized the importance of public safety and their commitment to protecting the community.
The department also expressed gratitude to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in the pursuit and the processing of the scene.
