A 30-year-old man was arrested Monday, March 31, 2025, after allegedly striking a family member with his vehicle and threatening another with a knife.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of SE 13th St., where reports indicated that Kyle Shannon Gilpin intentionally hit a victim with his vehicle before fleeing the scene. Witnesses followed the suspect, and officers were able to detain Gilpin in the 2200 block of N. Main St.
Further investigation revealed that Gilpin had also threatened to kill another family member while holding a knife to their throat. The victim he struck with the vehicle was also identified as a family member.
Gilpin was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault of a Family Member causing injury, a felony, and Assault of a Family Member. He was also taken into custody on multiple municipal misdemeanor warrants.
