Demarqeyun Cox, 33, was arrested by Texarkana Police officers on March 24, 2025, after allegedly damaging multiple Tesla vehicles in separate incidents across the city.
The first incident was reported at the Golden Palace restaurant on Summerhill Road, where surveillance footage showed a man on a mini four-wheeler intentionally ramming a parked Tesla.
While officers were searching for the suspect, another report came in regarding damage to a Tesla in the Lowe’s parking lot.
Shortly thereafter, Officer Blake Lummus spotted Cox riding a mini four-wheeler near Summerhill and New Boston Roads and recognized him as the suspect from the surveillance video. Cox initially provided a false name but was quickly identified and taken into custody.
Following Cox’s arrest, another report of Tesla damage was received from Genesis Prime Care on College Drive.
Cox has been charged with one count of felony Criminal Mischief and Failure to Identify. However, officers are investigating his potential involvement in the later incidents, which may result in additional charges.
He is currently being held at the Bi-State Jail as the investigation continues.
