A man was arrested Monday after forcing his way into a residence in the 1500 block of East Price, claiming to be working for a narcotics task force.
Paris Police officers responded to the disturbance and identified the suspect as 33-year-old Austin Lee Loyd. Officers had previously warned Loyd earlier in the day not to return to the residence.
Upon arrival, officers found Loyd speaking incoherently and alleging he was attempting to rescue an occupant of the home. Suspecting he was under the influence of a substance, officers arrested him for Public Intoxication.
A search of his property uncovered a quantity of narcotics, leading to an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Loyd was taken into custody at the Lamar County Jail.
