On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Cumby Police Department officers initiated a pursuit after observing a motorcyclist traveling at excessive speeds near mile marker 112 on eastbound Interstate 30. Using stationary radar, officers confirmed the red Honda CBR motorcycle was speeding at 123 mph.
Despite the officers activating emergency lights and sirens, the rider, later identified as 39-year-old Bradley Brown of Grand Prairie, Texas, continued to accelerate, reaching speeds up to 145 mph and weaving through traffic.
The chase ended at mile marker 126, where officers were able to detain Brown. He was arrested for reckless driving, and despite initially denying the high speeds, radar evidence confirmed his actions. Brown was transported to Hopkins County Jail. His bond has not yet been set.
