A 19-year-old Wills Point man died early Tuesday morning following a crash in Terrell that resulted in multiple charges for the vehicle's driver.
On March 11, 2025, at approximately 2:49 a.m., Terrell Police responded to a crash detection notification near State Highway 205 and Colquitt Road. Officers arrived to find an orange 2020 Chevrolet Equinox that had struck a traffic light pole.
The passenger, identified as Bryson Malachi Barnes, 19, of Wills Point, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, Preston David Grosvenor-Reed, 18, of Royse City, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Baylor Hospital in Dallas. After being discharged, he was transported to Kaufman County Jail, where he faces charges of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 2 <1G, Possession of Marijuana <2 OZ, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1B-4G-200G, and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 3 <28G. His bond has been set at $270,500.
An Advanced Accident Investigation was conducted at the scene to further investigate the incident.
