Paris Man Arrested After $50,000 in Damage to Store's HVAC Units

A Paris man was arrested Wednesday after police linked him to extensive damage at a local business while stealing copper and aluminum from HVAC units.

Paris Police officers responded to the 2000 block of Spur 139 for a report of criminal mischief. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a suspect had climbed onto the roof of the store and damaged the HVAC units while stealing metal components. The estimated cost of repairs exceeded $50,000.

Investigators collected evidence at the scene and identified a possible suspect, 35-year-old Casey Daniel Healey, who lived nearby. Officers and the Criminal Investigation Division located Healey at his residence and arrested him on an unrelated warrant for Criminal Mischief over $100 but less than $750.

During the arrest, officers found additional evidence linking Healey to the HVAC theft and damage. He was subsequently charged with Criminal Mischief Over $30,000 and Theft of Materials (Copper/Aluminum/Bronze).
