Orange Man Sentenced to 5+ Years in Prison for Federal Firearms Violation

An Orange, Texas, man has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison for a firearms violation, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr.

Alton Wayne Wallace, 31, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone on February 13, 2025.

The case stems from an incident on October 27, 2023, when law enforcement officers responded to a loitering report behind a restaurant on 16th Street in Orange. Upon arrival, officers discovered Wallace sitting on a firearm in the passenger seat of a vehicle. A second pistol was found on the floorboard near him. Investigation revealed Wallace had a prior conviction for carjacking in Beaumont. As a convicted felon, Wallace was prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law.
