During January 2025, the Panola County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Louisiana State Police regarding an active child pornography investigation involving a Panola County resident. PCSO Investigators worked with LSP and the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office.
A search warrant was obtained from the 123rd Judicial District Court. On Tuesday, February 4th, Panola County Patrol and Warrant Deputies and Investigators along with Bossier Parish Investigators executed the warrant at a residence on County Road 3342 in Waskom. Multiple electronic devices containing hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material were seized for lab analysis. A second warrant was executed on a vehicle parked at the Panola County courthouse.
Shawn Brian Clay, 41, was arrested at the Panola County Sheriff's Office on one count of Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography, a 1st degree felony. All information gathered will be forwarded to the Criminal District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
