On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Quinlan Police officers conducted a traffic stop on Chasta Ann McDaniel of Quinlan for a traffic violation. During the stop, McDaniel provided false information about her identity but was later positively identified by officers.
A search revealed she was in possession of narcotics, and further investigation determined McDaniel had an active warrant from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) for a parole violation stemming from prior drug charges.
While being booked into the Hunt County Detention Center, additional narcotics were discovered on McDaniel, leading to further charges. She was arrested on charges of Failure to Identify Fugitive with Intent to Give False Information, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 between 1 and 4 grams, and Prohibited Substance/Item in a Correctional Facility.
Her bond was set at $28,000; however, she remains in custody due to the TDCJ warrant.
