The Texarkana Police Department (TPD) arrested 69-year-old Kenneth Ismael Davenport at his home on Bellat Vista Cir. on child pornography charges following a tip from Google.
In late December, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted the department to a report from Google. The report indicated that over 800 files of suspected child pornography had been uploaded to a Google Drive using an IP address traced to Texarkana.
Detective Casey Schmidt investigated and identified the accounts involved as belonging to Davenport, a registered sex offender.
On Thursday morning, January 23rd, officers executed a search warrant at Davenport's home and seized several electronic devices. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography and is currently in custody at the Bi-State Jail.
Davenport is a convicted sex offender and is on the Texas Sex Offender Registry. He was convicted in 2004 for raping a 7-year-old girl.
"We want to thank NCMEC and Google for their vigilance in reporting this activity," said the TPD in a statement "Together, we can continue working to protect our children and hold offenders accountable."
