Henderson County Woman Arrested on Bestiality Charges Following Indictment

Misty Paulette Bane

On Thursday, January 2, 2024, Henderson County deputies arrested 50-year-old Misty Paulette Bane of Mabank on a warrant for Bestiality.

The arrest occurred at Bane's property on the 100 block of Navajo Drive, near Cedar Creek Reservoir, without incident. The warrant was issued by the 3rd District Court in Athens following her indictment for a November 17, 2024, incident.

According to the indictment, Bane is accused of forcing a small dog to perform sexual acts on her. Authorities have not disclosed how the case was reported.

Bane's bond was set at $10,000, which she posted on the same day. Texas Penal Code § 21.09 classifies Bestiality as a state jail felony, with penalties escalating to a second-degree felony if the animal is seriously injured or killed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
