On Monday, December 23, 2024, at approximately 8:33 p.m., Paris Police Detectives with the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force received a report of a stolen homemade trailer containing a Lincoln welder from the 8300 block of US Highway 271 North in Powderly.
Officers located the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Troy Lynn Blackwell of Talco, on County Road 43200 after his Chevrolet Suburban veered off the roadway into a ditch. The stolen trailer had flipped and detached from the vehicle during the incident.
Blackwell was taken into custody and charged with felony theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000. The stolen items were recovered.
