Brain Injury Survivor Passes Through Lone Oak on Cross-Country Journey to Raise Awareness

William Galloway

On the evening of December 20, 2024, Lone Oak Police Officer Savannah C. Hurst had the opportunity to meet William Galloway, an inspiring individual who is traveling across the country on his recumbent bike to raise awareness for those who have suffered brain injuries.

Galloway, who was struck by a drunk driver and sustained a traumatic brain injury along with seizures, now embarks on his journey to inspire and educate others. He arrived in Lone Oak last night, seeking a place to rest, and with the help of generous community members, Officer Hurst and others were able to provide him with shelter, food, and a place to charge his bike.

Officer Hurst shared her admiration for Galloway’s determination and courage, saying, “It was great meeting you Sir and safe travels!”
