On Saturday, December 21, 2024, at approximately 1:35 PM, emergency services responded to a report of an auto vs. pedestrian accident involving a pediatric patient on a bicycle at FM 512 near FM 118. Responding units included Wolfe City Fire Department Engine 1 and Squad 4, Commerce Engine 4, and Hunt County EMS.
First responders immediately launched a medical helicopter to the scene due to the severity of the injuries. Upon arrival, Engine 1 and Squad 4 assisted with patient care and helped establish a landing zone for Air Evac.
The pediatric patient was then airlifted to a Pediatric Trauma Center in the metroplex for further treatment. The incident is under investigation, and additional details regarding the accident are pending.
