In the early hours of Monday, December 9, 2024, Camryn Trace Berry of Caddo Mills was booked into the Hunt County Detention Center following a series of incidents stemming from a crash handled by DPS troopers on Sunday night.
Troopers responded to an accident on eastbound I-30 after a vehicle, driven by Berry, crashed into an 18-wheeler. The impact caused the truck to slide off the highway.
Berry was suspected of driving while intoxicated, and after his intoxicated status was confirmed, he resisted arrest, assaulting two troopers during the encounter. He briefly escaped custody but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
Berry now faces charges including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Resisting Arrest, Escape From Custody, and two counts of Assault on a Public Servant. His total bond has been set at $111,500.
This is not Berry's first run-in with the law. On July 12, 2024, he was arrested for DWI and Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence. He bonded out, and that case remains pending, with the next court date scheduled for January 6, 2025.
