At approximately 3:15 AM on November 28th, the Paris Fire Department, Paris EMS, and Paris PD responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Southwest 7th Street. Crews arrived to find a blaze in a two-story building and were informed by a neighbor that there was still an occupant inside.
Firefighters quickly entered the building and rescued the individual, who was then transported by Paris EMS to Paris Regional Health for treatment. Unfortunately, the occupant later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Paris Fire Department's Fire Marshal Office and the Paris Police Department.
