The Madison County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the FBI, has unveiled a new facial reconstruction image in the hopes of identifying a child whose remains were discovered in 2016 in Madisonville, Texas. The girl, known as "Baby Madison," was found on the side of Interstate 45 on September 17, 2016. Her body, wrapped in a trash bag and placed inside a black suitcase, has remained unidentified for years.
Through testing, investigators determined that the girl was likely between two and five years old. A long-sleeved pink dress, made by "Mon Petit" and sized 4T, along with a size 4 diaper, were found alongside her remains. A feeding tube was also located, suggesting she may have required specialized medical care.
Genetic testing revealed the child likely had ancestral ties to El Salvador and Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and was believed to have had long, thick black hair. Authorities initially suspected the child had a medical condition known as micrognathia, but recent findings suggest this was not the case.
The cause of her death remains unknown, and investigators are unsure whether she died in Texas. The Madison County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information to come forward, sharing the new facial reconstruction image in hopes of finally identifying "Baby Madison."
