On November 28, 2024, Sulphur Springs Police officers responded to a two-vehicle accident and arrested a suspect after determining the vehicle she was driving had been reported stolen.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with Jynesia Nychole Rose Howard, who admitted to being the driver of one of the vehicles involved. Howard initially claimed she was attempting to park and was unsure how the accident occurred. She later gave conflicting accounts, stating she was on her way to a nearby EZ-Mart and eventually admitting she had taken the vehicle to meet a friend.
Howard told officers the car belonged to her friend’s mother and provided the apartment number of the vehicle’s owner. When contacted, the owner confirmed she had not given Howard permission to use the car and had been unaware it was missing. The vehicle was declared stolen.
Howard was arrested and transported to the Hopkins County Jail without incident. She is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
