The Tyler Economic Development Council (TEDC) has finalized the sale of 30 acres to Amazon for the development of a new delivery station at North Tyler Commerce Park, located on Center Church Road (CR 334). Construction on the planned 140,000-square-foot facility is set to begin in the coming weeks, aiming to enhance Amazon's "last-mile" delivery capabilities in Tyler and East Texas.
“This delivery station will allow us to better serve customers in Tyler and across East Texas,” said Jessica Breaux, senior manager of economic development for Amazon. “We’re grateful for our partnership with the City of Tyler, Smith County, and the Tyler Economic Development Council and look forward to sharing more details about this facility in the future.”
The delivery station will receive packages from Amazon’s fulfillment and sortation centers, which employees will then process for final delivery to customers’ doorsteps. Tyler Mayor Don Warren praised the project, highlighting the benefits it brings to the city and region. “On behalf of the City of Tyler, we are excited to have Amazon building a delivery station here in our city. The benefits from this project are enormous as it will add to our tax base and provide faster service from when we make an Amazon purchase to the package showing up on our doorstep,” he said. “This is a huge win for the City, County, and the Tyler Economic Development Council.”
Smith County Judge Neal Franklin echoed these sentiments, stating, “We are thrilled to have Amazon construct a new delivery station to positively impact Smith County. The county’s partnership with the Tyler Economic Development Council continues to help grow our community and make Smith County the greatest place to live and work.”
TEDC President and CEO Scott Martinez emphasized the economic growth the project will bring to the region. “This new facility is a testament to the economic vitality of our community,” he noted. “This investment will translate into more growth, which benefits everyone who lives here.”
The TEDC extended thanks to several key contributors in the development process, including Smith County Engineer Frank Davis, Tyler City Planner Kyle Kingma, East Texas Municipal Utility District General Manager Lane Thompson, and representatives from Potter Minton Law Firm and The Brannon Corporation.
