Pittsburg ISD Addresses Rumored Threats to School Safety

Pittsburg ISD Superintendent Terry Waldrep released a statement addressing recent concerns regarding school safety within the district. The announcement comes in light of rumors and a recording circulating on social media, which the district has thoroughly investigated in collaboration with PISD police and local law enforcement.

Waldrep emphasized that the district has not received any credible threats and reassured families that both the rumors and the recording have been deemed unsubstantiated. He highlighted the importance of discussing the implications of sharing information on social media, especially regarding rumors.

The superintendent reiterated the district's commitment to ensuring the safety of students and staff, stating, “The safety of our students and staff is always our first priority.” He confirmed that PISD maintains a strong police and security presence on all campuses and will take immediate action against any individuals making threatening statements or spreading rumors.

Parents are encouraged to reach out to PISD administration or police with any questions or concerns regarding school safety.
