On Friday, October 18, 2024, at approximately 2:02 p.m., the Sherman Police Department responded to a major vehicle accident in the 200-block of Vietnam Veterans Parkway. The crash involved a motorcycle and a vehicle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 18-year-old Clayton Oleckninche, sustained major injuries in the collision. He was initially transported by ambulance to Texoma Medical Center and later airlifted to Medical City Plano. Despite efforts to save him, Oleckninche later died from his injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured. Sherman PD’s Critical Accident Investigation Team (CAIT) is leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.
