In the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics-related search warrant at a residence located in the 2400 block of Hillcrest Avenue in Greenville, Texas. Investigators had been conducting an investigation into the property, which was suspected of being used for the sale and distribution of narcotics, including cocaine and fentanyl.
During the search, authorities recovered approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 750 fentanyl pills, hydrocodone pills, Xanax pills, marijuana, six firearms (including one stolen), a quantity of United States currency, and drug paraphernalia related to the packaging and sale of narcotics.
In response to the situation, Child Protective Services (CPS) and the SPCA of Texas were contacted for assistance. CPS took custody of two children found in the home, while the SPCA determined that the occupants were running an unlicensed breeding operation and subsequently removed fourteen dogs from the premises.
Two adults at the residence, identified as Charles William Bryant and Jaida Kaye Bridgewater, were taken into custody. They face multiple charges, including Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance over 400 grams (cocaine), Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance over 4 grams but less than 400 grams (fentanyl), and two counts of Endangering a Child. Both suspects are being held in the Hunt County Detention Center with bonds set at a total of $825,000 each.
Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones expressed gratitude to the Greenville Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Child Protective Services, and the SPCA for their collaboration during the warrant execution.
