Salsa on the Square, a fiesta of dancing, will take place on September 21, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at JJ Culbertson Plaza, Downtown Paris, Texas.
The event will highlight Hispanic and Latino communities, focusing on history, culture, popular and traditional foods, music, dancing, and arts as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Salsa music, colorful attire, and a mix of experienced and first-time dancers will fill the plaza.
New this year is a salsa tasting competition featuring local Mexican restaurants. Samples will be provided starting at 6:30 p.m., with the public voting on the best salsa in town.
The event will feature live music from Lara Latin, a DFW-based band specializing in Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Bachata. Free salsa lessons will be provided by Kumbala Dance Studio, allowing anyone to participate.
The east side of the plaza will be blocked to traffic, and the fountain will be decorated in a fiesta theme. Food trucks will be onsite, with seating available to enjoy food and beverages.
