The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that state troopers apprehended a bank robbery suspect in Shelby County on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2024. The incident occurred at Austin Bank in downtown Timpson, located at 352 Jacob St.
Troopers responded swiftly to alerts and arrived at the scene within two minutes. They discovered the suspect brandishing what appeared to be a gun, later identified as a pellet gun, and threatening individuals inside the bank.
The suspect was successfully taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Shelby County Jail in Center. Authorities have not yet released details about the suspect's identity.
